Let’s make some simple and delicious chocolate orange brownies!

Start by preheating your oven to 350F (325F if using convection bake). Line 9″x9″ baking pan with parchment paper. Set aside.

Whack and unwrap a Terry’s Chocolate Orange. Remove 9 chocolate segments and set aside (these will be for placing on top of the freshly baked brownies). Roughly chop the remaining chocolate segments. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, mix melted butter, cocoa, and sugar until a wet dark brown mixture forms.

Add vanilla, orange extract, and eggs.

Mix for 2-3 minutes, until a smooth and silky mixture forms.

Add flour and salt. Stir until combined.

Add chopped chocolate orange pieces and stir to incorporate.

Add mixture to the prepared 9×9 pan.

Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven and decorate with 9 remaining chocolate orange segments.

Let cool for 5-10 mins in baking pan, then remove brownie from pan and finish cooling on wire baking rack.

Notes

Sofia’s Tips:
  • These brownies will continue to bake once removed from the oven and will become cake-like if in the oven for too long.
  • You are looking for wet crumb on a toothpick inserted into the centre.
  • If making this recipe in a 8×8” pan – bake for 25-30 minutes.
