Whack it...unwrap it... then bake it into a brownie! The perfect chocolate brownie recipe with a zesty orange twist! These Chocolate Orange Brownies are ridiculously easy to make and bursting with orange flavour!
1Chocolate Orange Terry's Chocolate Orange or equivalent
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F (325F for convection oven). Line 9"x9" baking pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
Whack and unwrap a Terry's Chocolate Orange. Remove 9 chocolate segments (these will be for placing on top of the freshly baked brownies). Roughly chop the remaining chocolate segments. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, mix melted butter, cocoa, and sugar until a wet dark brown mixture forms.
Add vanilla, orange extract, and eggs. Mix for 2-3 minutes, until a smooth and silky mixture forms.
Add flour and salt. Stir until combined. Add chopped chocolate orange pieces and stir to incorporate.
Add mixture to the prepared 9x9 pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. Once finished baking, remove brownies from oven and decorate with 9 remaining chocolate orange segments.
Let cool for 5-10 mins in baking pan, then remove brownie from pan and finish cooling on wire baking rack.
Cut into squares and enjoy!
Notes
Sofia’s Tips:
These brownies will continue to bake once removed from the oven and will become cake-like if in the oven for too long.
You are looking for wet crumb on a toothpick inserted into the centre.
If making this recipe in a 8×8” pan – bake for 25-30 minutes.
