The Easiest Cinnamon Rolls {made with puff pastry!}
Easy. Flaky. Delicious. My recipe for the Easiest Cinnamon Rolls combines the irresistible warmth of classic cinnamon rolls with the flakiness of your favourite pastry. They are easy to prepare, buttery, and the perfect cinnamon treat!
This recipe only requires a few simple ingredients and melts in your mouth like all the best cinnamon rolls do! If you have a sheet of puff pastry, a dash of cinnamon sugar, a nob of butter, and a dollop of your favourite homemade or store bought cream cheese frosting, you’re in for a treat!
Is there a quick way to thaw frozen puff pastry?
Yes! The quickest way to thaw frozen puff pastry is to leave it on your counter at room temperature for ~2 hours. After thawing, roll flat or unroll sheet, and use it to make your cinnamon buns.
How can I prevent my cinnamon rolls from unravelling during baking?
Good question! This can be tricky. I recommend rolling your cinnamon rolls really tightly and pinching the loose ends against the roll.
How long can these cinnamon buns last at room temperature?
These easy cinnamon rolls can last in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Starch begins to quickly brake down in the refrigerator and so the quality of the rolls will decrease over time.
What can I substitute cream cheese frosting with?
I love these cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting however they are also really delicious with vanilla buttercream or really any frosting you have at home (leftover or store bought). This recipe requires about 3 tbsp of frosting!
To make this recipe you will need:
- Frozen Puff Pastry – thawed in fridge overnight or 2 hours at room temperature
- Butter – unsalted, softened
- Cinnamon – ground cinnamon to be mixed with sugar
- Sugar – granulated sugar (cane, white, or coconut sugar)
